New University Campus in Zapresic, Masterplan
The design for the new campus of the Baltazar Adam Krčelić University of Applied Sciences is based on plans to develop modern university buildings according to the principles of ecological timber engineering combined with an intelligent and sustainable concept for energy-efficiency in buildings. As a centre of innovation, the campus will emerge step by step around a main university building, student accommodation houses and a technology park. In addition, Seewood is working together with the town on a master plan to integrate additional sports and recreational facilities such as indoor swimming baths and a multifunctional sports centre as well as residential housing into the new campus area, thus creating a trend-setting overall project. This urban development project will provide Zapresic (situated 20 km north of Zagreb on the motorway to Ptuj and Graz) with a new town centre based on ecological principles which will be the first project of its kind in the area.
